In the German Bundesliga 2 clash, German-born Ghanaian defender Jan Gyamerah showcased his scoring prowess, contributing to FC Nurnberg’s 2-1 victory over SV Wehen Wiesbaden on Sunday.

Taking his place on the pitch at the Max-Morlock-Stadion, Gyamerah remained a pivotal presence throughout the entire 90 minutes of the game.

The complexion of the match altered in the 11th minute when the home side was reduced to 10 players. Ahmet Gürleyen, a defender, was shown a red card for a harsh tackle on Pratjin. Despite the free kick opportunity that followed, Wiesbaden failed to capitalize on it.

Subsequently, the away side also saw a player sent off as Lee Hyun-Ju received his second yellow card from the referee, resulting from a foul.

In the 55th minute, SV Wehen Wiesbaden managed to break the deadlock as Ivan Prtajin headed the ball into the high center of the goal from the center of the box. The goal was facilitated by Robin Heußer, who delivered a well-placed cross after a corner kick.

Jan Gyamerah emerged as a key protagonist for the home team, equalizing the scoreline. He netted a goal with his right foot from the center of the box, placing the ball into the bottom right corner.

The turning point came in the 76th minute, when FC Nurnberg seized the lead with a penalty conversion by Tim Handwerker, making it 2-1.

As the match progressed, the away side’s numbers dwindled further as Martin Angha was issued a second yellow card by the referee, resulting from a foul.

FC Nurnberg’s next league encounter will see them face FC Kaiserslautern in their upcoming fixture.
