The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that the University of Ghana Stadium will host the highly anticipated WAFU Zone B U-17 tournament, scheduled from May 15th to May 29th.
Several West African teams are set to compete in this thrilling event.
GFA’s Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum, expressed gratitude to the authorities for their cooperation, stating, “We have spoken to the authorities, and they have accepted that the University of Ghana Stadium will be the place to host the tournament,” as reported by Peace FM.
In addition to the stadium, four training pitches have been designated for the teams’ preparation. These include Achimota School Park, the athletic oval at the University of Ghana, Sarbah Hall Park at the University of Ghana, and Union Park, also located within the University of Ghana.
Teams are expected to arrive in Ghana starting May 10th, allowing five days for acclimatization and preparation ahead of the opening ceremony and the tournament’s first game.
