Ghanaian forward Aaron Opoku Tawiah delivered an outstanding performance to lead Kaiserslautern to a crucial 2-1 away victory over SSV Ulm 1846 in the German Bundesliga 2 opener.
Starting the match and playing for 87 minutes, Opoku was instrumental in securing the win for his team at the Donaustadion on Sunday. The 25-year-old attacker scored the decisive goal late in the game to ensure maximum points for Kaiserslautern.
The first half ended in a goalless stalemate as both teams struggled to break the deadlock. However, the visitors made a strong comeback in the second half.
SSV Ulm 1846 took the lead shortly after the break when Felix Higl scored three minutes into the second half. Kaiserslautern equalized in the 77th minute with a penalty from Boris Tomiak.
Opoku then emerged as the hero by scoring in the 83rd minute, sealing the victory for his side. He was substituted by Tobias Raschl in the 87th minute, having played a crucial role in the win.
Opoku Tawiah will look to continue his impressive form throughout the 2024/25 season as Kaiserslautern aims for Bundesliga promotion.
