Ghanaian forward Ransford Yeboah Königsdörffer scored for Hamburger SV in their 1-1 draw with Hertha BSC on Saturday evening in the German Bundesliga 2.
Prior to the match, the head-to-head record between the teams showed seven wins for Hamburger SV, nine for Hertha BSC, and two draws.
Held at Volksparkstadion, the game featured Königsdörffer starting and playing the full 90 minutes. Despite Hertha BSC’s dominance in possession and shot count, it was Königsdörffer who broke the deadlock in the 11th minute. He scored with a header into the bottom left corner, thanks to a close-range assist from Bakery Jatta. Hertha BSC equalized late in the game when Jonjoe Kenny scored in the 86th minute with a right-footed shot from the center of the box.
Königsdörffer has been in stellar form this season, having netted three goals in just two matches. Hamburger SV will now turn their attention to their upcoming DFB Pokal fixture against Meppen on August 18th.
