Ghanaian midfielder Augustine Boakye has expressed his aspiration to represent the national team, describing it as a “dream come true” if given the opportunity to play for Ghana. Although he wasn’t selected for the latest Black Stars squad, Boakye remains hopeful and determined.
In an interview with Flashscore, Boakye spoke about the honor of wearing the national jersey but emphasized that he is not rushing the process. “I’m from Ghana, so it would be a dream to play for the country,” he shared, adding, “but I am not going to force it and say I have to play in the national team.”
Boakye’s focus remains on delivering strong performances for his club, believing that his efforts will eventually earn him a call-up. “The call-up could come today or tomorrow; I don’t know when,” he said, “but when it comes, it will be good, and I will be ready.”
He also mentioned his admiration for former Ghanaian international Sulley Muntari, who has been a significant influence on his career. Boakye praised Muntari’s passion and ambition, noting that the former star’s dedication serves as an inspiration for young players like himself.
