“I know I work with rebels at GHALCA” – Cudjoe Fianoo

Cudjoe Fianoo, the Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), has opened up about the internal challenges he has faced during his tenure, admitting that he has worked alongside “rebels” within the organization.

In an interview with Oyerepa FM, Fianoo shared his struggles in managing the association, acknowledging that there were times when he felt isolated and had to stand alone in the face of opposition.

Despite these hurdles, the GHALCA Chairman is proud of his ability to navigate the complexities of the role and steer the organization toward a peaceful conclusion to his time in office.

“I know I work with rebels at GHALCA. There were a lot of times I stood alone. I faced the storms at GHALCA to ensure a peaceful end of my tenure,” Fianoo said during the interview on Oyerepa FM.

This comes after the Executive Council of GHALCA lashed out at their their chairman over his consistent media campaign against incumbent GFA boss Kurt Okraku.

The welfare body distanced itself from Mr. Fianoo’s plot to oust the duly elected Kurt Okraku from office as tension and turmoil within the organisation escalates.

Fianoo, an avid critic of former GFA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi, threw caution to the wind when he stated in media interviews that he would be moving GHALCA to lead an impeachment campaign against the incumbent FA boss.

Fianoo’s words and posturing have not gone down well with a lot of GHALCA members, who are unhappy with the negative energy being generated by their Chairman.

Ghana Football has been on the path of a steady rise under Kurt Okraku after a tumultuous period which led to the total collapse of the game in the country in June 2018 amid the controversial Anas expose.
