Ghanaian defender Tariq Lamptey has earned a spot in the BBC English Premier League Team of the Week following an outstanding display against Leicester City.
The Brighton & Hove Albion right-back delivered a stunning goal to break the deadlock in an exciting 2-2 draw at the King Power Stadium on Sunday.
Lamptey’s performance wasn’t just about his offensive contributions. He also showcased excellent defensive skills, which secured him a place in the team selected by Troy Deeney.
“Scored an incredible goal at Leicester. He’s such a unique player with great potential and ability, but you always hope he can stay injury-free,” explained Deeney while justifying his selection of Lamptey.
The Team of the Week also features Emiliano Martinez and Ezri Konsa of Aston Villa, Maxence Lacroix and Will Hughes of Crystal Palace, Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez and Cole Palmer, and Antonee Robinson from Fulham. The forward line is rounded out by West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen, Leicester’s Jamie Vardy, and Brentford’s Bryan Mbuemo.
