Coventry City manager Frank Lampard has praised Ghanaian forward Brandon Thomas-Asante for his impressive performance despite their 2-1 defeat to Norwich City in the English Championship.
Thomas-Asante featured for the full duration of the match, which saw Coventry surrender an early lead as Norwich mounted a spirited comeback. Ghanaian midfielder Forson Amankwah played a crucial role in Norwich’s victory, overturning Coventry’s initial advantage.
Although Thomas-Asante missed a significant scoring opportunity, Lampard commended the forward’s overall contribution to the team. “Brandon as well up front, he was very good and all of his diligence off the ball and his work ethic for the team, as well as his hold-up play,” the former Chelsea manager stated.
Since joining Coventry from West Bromwich Albion in the summer, the dynamic forward has made 27 appearances, showcasing his importance to the team. His efforts have earned him admiration from Lampard, who replaced Mark Robins as Coventry’s manager earlier this season.
Coventry currently sit 16th in the Championship standings after 26 matches and will look to improve their form in the coming weeks, with Lampard counting on players like Thomas-Asante to help turn their season around.
