Ghanaian midfielder Abdul Wahab Hanan has completed a move to Bahraini giants Al Muharraq SC ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The 27-year-old joins the reigning champions from league rivals Al Shabab Club, bringing a wealth of experience to the Red Wolves’ midfield.
“Al Muharraq Club has secured the signing of Abdulwahab Hanan from Al Shabab Club to strengthen the first football team,” the club announced in a statement.
Hanan, who previously featured for Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities, spent a significant portion of his career in Portugal, representing clubs such as SC Covilhã, GS Loures, and Moncarapachense. His arrival is expected to add stability and creativity to Al Muharraq’s midfield as they aim to defend their league title.
Speaking after his unveiling, Hanan shared his aspirations with the club:
“My ambition with the club is to help them continue winning trophies,” he stated.
He will wear the number 15 jersey for the upcoming campaign — a number he says holds personal meaning.
“That is my father’s favourite number. He has always inspired me, and I want to make him proud,” Hanan added.
Al Muharraq SC will be looking to maintain their dominance in the Bahraini league when the new season kicks off later this year, with Hanan expected to play a key role in their title defense.
