Italy-born Ghanaian striker Martin Boakye has signed a one-year contract with Turkish second-tier side Boluspor in the summer transfer window after parting ways with Thai giants Buriram United.

The 30-year-old forward brings a wealth of experience to Boluspor as they target promotion to the Turkish Süper Lig this season. His arrival was confirmed by the club in an official statement highlighting his career journey, which began in Italy with youth stints at Ponte dei Nori and Solesinese.

Boakye turned professional in 2016 with Austrian side Kitzbühel before spells with Hohenems, a return to Kitzbühel, and Luxembourg’s Jeunesse Esch. His career has since taken him across Europe and Asia, featuring for Croatia’s Slaven Belupo in 2020, Uzbek clubs Andijon and AGMK in 2021, China’s Qingdao Hainiu in 2024, and most recently Buriram United in 2025.

During his time in Thailand, Boakye enjoyed a hugely successful 2024/25 campaign, winning the Thai League 1 title, the ASEAN Club Championship, the Thai FA Cup, and the Thai League Cup.

He made his Boluspor debut in their 2025/26 league opener on Sunday, playing in a narrow 3-2 home defeat to Vanspor FK. The club will be counting on his goal-scoring instincts and experience to spearhead their push for promotion this season.
