Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has reportedly rejected a summer transfer to English Premier League side Everton, opting instead to remain at Leicester City.
The 20-year-old, who enjoyed a breakthrough 2023/24 campaign, has been a key figure in Leicester’s setup since making his move from Sporting CP permanent. His decision comes amid strong interest from Everton, who were keen to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season.
Fatawu’s impressive pace, dribbling, and creativity earned him plaudits during Leicester’s promotion push back to the Premier League. Everton had reportedly tabled an attractive offer, but the winger is believed to have prioritised continuity and development under manager Enzo Maresca.
Sources close to the player indicate that Fatawu is determined to prove himself in the Premier League with the Foxes and help the club secure top-flight stability.
The Ghana international is expected to play a pivotal role in Leicester’s campaign when the new season kicks off.
