Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou criticised Yves Bissouma for sometimes letting the game be driven by him after they were beaten by Fulham in the first weekend of their Premier League opener on Monday night at Leicester City.

The Malian recorded himself inhaling laughing gas, which infuriated the then-Australian boss and warned him to work hard to earn his trust.

Bissouma was dropped by former Malian head coach Eric Chelle from the national team during his reign on multiple occasions.

Chelle, who is now in charge of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, complained several times due to indiscipline issues recorded by the talented midfielder.

On Tuesday, ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s UEFA Super Cup clash against the champions of Europe, PSG in Udine, the club’s Danish manager Thomas Frank dropped Yves Bissouma from his squad and disclosed that he did that because the Malian is indisciplined.

“Bissouma has not travelled with the team because of disciplinary reasons.

“He has been late several times, and the latest time was one too many.

“With everything, you need to give your players a lot of love, but also have demands, and there also need to be consequences. This time there was a consequence for that”, Frank added.

Yves Bissouma has one year left on his four-year contract he signed for the London club when he joined them from Brighton & Hove Albion in June 2022 in a deal worth £30 million.

The 28-year-old Ivorian-born Mali international is likely to leave Tottenham Hotspur if a deal that suits both parties arrive.

PSG will entertain Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday night at the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine, Italy, at 7 pm.
