Heart of Lions head coach Bashir Hayford has accepted his team’s 1-0 loss to Aduana FC, praising the disciplined defensive display of the visitors.
The Lions hosted the Dormaa-based side on Friday afternoon in a Week 14 fixture of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season at the Kpando Sports Stadium.
In a tightly contested match, a lone strike from Patrick Mensah secured a narrow victory for Aduana FC, earning them all three points.
Speaking after the game, Hayford acknowledged his team’s efforts but admitted it simply wasn’t their day.
“This is how football is. We did everything,” he said. “I will give credit to the defenders of Aduana FC. They defended gallantly, and I’m not surprised by their position on the table. Congratulations to them.”
The defeat leaves Heart of Lions in third place with 23 points in the league standings. Their position could be affected depending on the outcomes of other Week 14 matches scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
