Interim Prince Yaw Owusu has admitted that Asante Kotoko faced problems in the attacking third following their 0-0 draw against Vision FC in the Ghana Premier League.
Speaking at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium after the Week 24 clash, Owusu described the match as “open” but highlighted Kotoko’s inefficiency in front of goal.
“It was an open game. Vision is not a bad side. When they get the ball, they do what they want to do, and we also play when we get the ball, but when we get to the final turf, we just mess it up and it’s a problem we need to work on,” he said.
Despite dominating possession with 60% and creating more chances, Kotoko failed to convert their opportunities. The home side registered nine shots on target and eight off target, while Vision FC, playing part of the match with 10 men, managed seven shots on target and three off target.
The result is another dropped point for Kotoko as they chase the league summit, leaving them in fourth place with a seven-point deficit to the leaders. The coach stressed the need for the team to improve their finishing ahead of upcoming fixtures.
