Kelvin Yeboah, nephew of Ghana legend Tony Yeboah, produced a sensational performance with a brace to inspire Minnesota United FC to a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over Columbus Crew in Major League Soccer on Sunday.
The Loons looked to be heading for defeat after falling two goals behind, with Taha Habroune and Hugo Picard putting Columbus Crew firmly in control.
Habroune opened the scoring in the 31st minute following a well-worked move involving Max Arfsten, before Picard doubled the lead with his first MLS goal to leave Minnesota with a mountain to climb.
However, the game turned dramatically in the second half as Yeboah took center stage. The 24-year-old forward pulled one back just after the hour mark, showing sharp movement and composure to finish from close range after timing his run perfectly between defenders.
Moments later, he struck again to level the score, rising highest to head home from a pinpoint corner delivered by Joaquin Pereyra in the 66th minute.
Minnesota United completed the comeback late in the game, sealing a thrilling victory with Yeboah at the heart of the turnaround.
The in-form striker, who has previously featured for clubs such as Genoa and FC Augsburg, continues to impress in the Major League Soccer, taking his tally to seven goals in 11 appearances this season.
Born in Ghana but capped at youth level for Italy, Yeboah is steadily emerging as one of Minnesota United’s key attacking threats since joining the club in 2024, with his latest heroics further cementing his growing reputation.
