Ghanaian defender Nasiru Moro was on the scoresheet for Degerfors IF, but his effort could not prevent a heavy 4-1 home defeat to Mjällby AIF in the Swedish Allsvenskan at Stora Valla.
The visitors made a blistering start to the contest, taking the lead inside four minutes through Jeppe Kjær before Tom Pettersson doubled the advantage on the half-hour mark.
Abdoulie Manneh added a third before halftime to leave Degerfors with a mountain to climb heading into the break.
The hosts responded immediately after the restart when Moro rose highest to connect with Daniel Sundgren’s cross, powering a header past goalkeeper Robin Wallinder in the 46th minute.
The strike marked the centre-back’s first goal of the 2026 Allsvenskan season, taking his tally to one goal in five league appearances.
Despite enjoying a brief spell of pressure after pulling one back, Degerfors were unable to complete a comeback as Elliot Stroud sealed the victory for Mjällby with a fourth goal six minutes from time.
Although Degerfors created several dangerous moments and registered more shots in the game, Mjällby proved more clinical in front of goal.
Moro and his teammates will now turn their attention to their next league fixture against GAIS on May 16 as they look to bounce back from the disappointing result.
