Kazakhstan Premier League club FK Zhenys have completed the signing of Ghanaian defender Patrick Kpozo, strengthening their squad ahead of the new season with added experience and versatility.
The 28-year-old arrives after an extensive European career, having played in Sweden, Moldova and the Czech Republic, and is expected to bring stability and leadership to Zhenys’ backline.
The club confirmed the signing in an official statement, expressing confidence that Kpozo will significantly improve their defensive options. Known for his pace, attacking runs and adaptability, he can operate as a left-back, wing-back, or even in midfield.
A product of Inter Allies FC in Ghana, Kpozo began his European journey with Swedish clubs AIK and Östersunds FK, where he gained valuable top-flight experience.
He later enjoyed a successful spell with Moldovan side Sheriff Tiraspol, winning two league titles and two domestic cups, before moving on to the Czech Republic with Baník Ostrava.
His consistent performances earned him recognition at international level, with invitations to the Black Stars setup.
Zhenys believe his experience in European and continental competitions, combined with his leadership qualities, will be crucial as they aim to strengthen their ambitions in the Kazakhstan top flight.
