Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC have reached an agreement with Heart of Lions for the transfer of highly-rated defensive midfielder Etse Dogli, according to sources close to the negotiations.
The two clubs have successfully settled discussions over the transfer fee, allowing Medeama to begin direct negotiations with the player over personal terms.
Talks between the Tarkwa-based side and Dogli are currently ongoing, with discussions focused on key contract details, including the length of the deal and salary package.
Sources indicate that, barring any late complications, the midfielder is expected to complete his medical examination and be officially unveiled as a Medeama player in the coming days.
The move represents a significant transfer victory for Medeama, who reportedly fended off competition from Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak to secure the services of one of the league’s emerging midfield talents.
Dogli enjoyed a remarkable breakthrough season with Kpando Heart of Lions, transforming from a lower-division defender into one of the Ghana Premier League’s most impressive holding midfielders.
His performances throughout the campaign earned widespread praise, with his ability to break up opposition attacks, protect the defence and control the tempo of matches making him a standout figure.
The midfielder’s consistent displays also earned him recognition at the national level, receiving a call-up to Ghana’s home-based senior national team, the Black Galaxies.
Medeama view Dogli as an important addition as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of upcoming domestic and continental challenges.
The Mauve and Yellow outfit have been working to build a deeper and more competitive squad, with the midfield area identified as a key department requiring reinforcement.
Dogli’s expected arrival is seen as a major boost to Medeama’s plans, with the club hoping his energy, discipline and technical quality will provide greater stability in the heart of the team.
