Veteran Ghanaian coach J. E. Sarpong has attributed the Black Stars’ recent struggles to what he describes as deep-rooted corruption within the Ghana Football Association (GFA), insisting that meaningful progress will remain elusive unless sweeping reforms are implemented.
Speaking in an interview with Bullet TV, Coach Sarpong said the current state of football administration in Ghana is undermining the national team’s chances of achieving success on the international stage.
According to him, corruption within the football association has reached alarming levels and must be tackled without delay.
“The corruption at GFA is so much that if things don’t change, we won’t have any positive results.”
The experienced tactician stressed that Ghana football needs urgent systemic reforms rather than temporary measures, arguing that only transparency, accountability and proper administration can restore the country’s football fortunes.
Coach Sarpong maintained that unless the issues affecting the football association are addressed decisively, the Black Stars and other national teams will continue to struggle to produce the desired results.
