Swedish club Helsingborgs IF have completed the signing of Danish-Ghanaian attacker Osman Addo on loan from Viborg FF until the end of the season, with an option to make the move permanent.
The 22-year-old joins Helsingborg in search of regular first-team football and is available for selection ahead of this weekend’s clash against Sandvikens IF.
Addo moved to Viborg from Danish side B93 in January after an outstanding spell in the lower divisions, where he registered 15 goals and 14 assists in 61 competitive appearances.
Although he was mostly used as a substitute during his first months in the Danish Superliga, the versatile forward still impressed by scoring two goals in just over 140 minutes of league action.
Capable of playing as a winger or central forward, Addo is expected to provide Helsingborg with added pace, creativity and attacking versatility as they push for a strong finish to the season.
Speaking after completing the move, the Ghanaian-descent attacker expressed his excitement about playing in Sweden and hopes to quickly build a connection with the Helsingborg supporters while earning more consistent playing time.
The loan deal gives Helsingborg the opportunity to assess Addo before deciding whether to activate the permanent transfer option at the end of the season.
