The Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko, Mr. George Amoako, has disclosed that their talisman Songne Yacouba will not be part of the club’s next season campaign.
According to the ace football administrator, Asante Kotoko have planned their future for the upcoming season without the Burkinabe international.
The Porcupine Warriors seem to have given up on the 28-year old forward and are willing to transfer the dreaded striker following the arrival of Ugandan international George Abege, Adingra Moussa and Richard Arthur.
“Let’s forget about Songne Yacouba now. His services are no more needed at our club,” Mr. Amoako said. ”We are ready to sell him to any club at a good price. We now have better players to replace him for our next season’s campaign” he disclosed in an interview on Kumasi -based Oyerepa FM.
“We need to move forward as a club and not to depend on a single player. Some of our players will be leaving and Yacouba is part of them,”
Egyptian side Al Ahly, Zesco United of Zambia and South African outfit, Orlando Pirates have all shown interest in signing the striker.
Yacouba scored two goals and provided five assists in his eight appearances for Asante Kotoko in their last season CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
