Asante Kotoko have pulled off a major coup in the transfer market by signing Sudanese striker Obdoelkarem Obdelrahman on a season-long loan deal from Hay Alwadi Nyala.
The 19-year-old sensation is set to arrive in Ghana on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, to undergo a mandatory medical examination and begin his new adventure with the Kumasi-based club.
Obdelrahman’s signing comes highly recommended by Sudan head coach Kwesi Appiah, who doubles as the technical director of Asante Kotoko.
The young striker is rated as one of the most talented U23 strikers in Sudanese football and rose through the ranks of AlWadi.
This move marks a significant step in Kotoko’s efforts to strengthen their team after a period of significant squad changes. The Porcupine Warriors recently offloaded 21 players in a bid to rejuvenate their squad following a sixth-place finish in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
Obdelrahman’s addition aligns with Kotoko’s strategy of incorporating experienced international players into their lineup, and he joins his compatriot Esmat Abdulhamid Mohammed, who joined from Al Hilal on loan few days ago.
