Steven Dese Mukwala, the striker for Asante Kotoko and Uganda Cranes, has conveyed his deep sorrow regarding the tragic passing of former URA FC coach, Sam Timbe.
On Saturday, URA FC, a team in the Uganda Premier League, confirmed the untimely demise of their head coach, Sam Timbe. The club revealed that Timbe had passed away while being rushed to the hospital.
Reportedly, just a day before his passing, Sam Timbe had been actively involved in his coaching responsibilities, overseeing the training session of the first team.
During this session, he began to feel unwell and complained of having a fever. Recognizing the urgency of his condition, Timbe left the team’s training camp at Standard Hotel in order to seek medical attention.
Over the course of the following night, his condition took a turn for the worse. After being admitted to St. Catherine Hospital, his health continued to deteriorate, leading the medical staff to transfer him to Nakasero Hospital.
Tragically, upon his arrival at Nakasero Hospital, he was pronounced deceased.
Steven Dese Mukwala, who had worked under Timbe’s guidance during his time with URA FC before moving to Ghana, expressed his profound sadness and bid a heartfelt farewell to the coach, saying, “Saddened by the news of the demise of my former Coach. My prayers go to the bereaved family and Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club fraternity”
Meanwhile, Mukwala is currently in Ghana, preparing with Asante Kotoko at Beposo ahead of the upcoming season.
