In a highly anticipated contest during the 2023 GFA Elective Congress in Tamale, Kingsley Osei Bonsu, the Chief Executive of Bechem United, emerged victorious in his bid to secure a coveted position on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council.
His rival, Elloeny Amande, a former sports broadcast journalist and Chief Executive of Karela United, also demonstrated remarkable passion and dedication throughout the election process.
Initially, the vote count resulted in a tie between the two aspirants, necessitating a run-off to determine the fifth member of the Executive Council representing Premier League clubs. Ultimately, Kingsley Osei Bonsu prevailed with a final vote tally of 12 to 6, solidifying his position on the Executive Council.
With this election outcome, Osei Bonsu joins the ranks of other council members, including former Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah, Randy Abbey, Nana Oduro Sarfo, and Frederick Acheampong, in representing the interests of the 18 Ghana Premier League clubs.
