The Ghana women’s national team, the Black Queens, will participate in a three-nation international tournament in Tanzania as part of preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The competition is scheduled to take place in Dar es Salaam during the FIFA women’s international break from June 1 to June 9, 2026. Hosts Tanzania and Malawi are the other participating nations in the mini-tournament.
The upcoming matches are expected to provide the Black Queens with crucial game time as they continue fine-tuning preparations for the continental showpiece in Morocco.
Head coach Kim Lars and his technical team are expected to use the tournament to evaluate player performances, improve tactical understanding, and strengthen chemistry within the squad ahead of the competition.
The invitational tournament also offers Ghana an opportunity to maintain momentum and remain competitive during the international window while testing different tactical combinations against quality opposition.
After securing a third-place finish at the previous WAFCON tournament, the Black Queens are determined to mount a stronger challenge in 2026 as they pursue a first-ever continental title.
