Ghanaian striker, Issah Abass, has joined German side Mainz 05 from NK Olimpija Ljubljana on a five-year deal.
The Ghanaian teen, played 53 competitive games for the reigning Slovenian champions and cup winners since the summer of 2017, scoring 17 goals.
He’s however expected to start training with his new club on Tuesday.
Abass will replace Pablo de Blasis, who has just changed to Eibar, on the offensive wing. “Issah Abass is a highly gifted talent and an investment in our future, we trust him with the next leaps in development, we give him the necessary time.This was the right moment to win it for us,” says Sport Board Rouven Schröder.

Meanwhile, Abass, says he feels “100 percent ready” for to play for the German side having always followed the Bundesliga.
“I’m thrilled to be here, it was always my dream to play at a high level,” says Abass. “When I heard about Mainz 05’s offer, I did not have to think twice, and the talks with sporting director Rouven Schröder and coach Sandro Schwarz have finally convinced me and I cannot wait to train with the team for the first time next week. “
