The African Club Association (ACA) is set to be launched by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on November 30 in Cairo, Egypt.
The event will witness the presence of senior executives and chairpersons from various African football clubs.
Among the attendees, CAF President Patrice Motsepe will be present at the Marriot Mena House in Cairo. The ACA launch will be followed by a live-streamed press conference featuring President Motsepe and ACA members.
The primary objective of the African Club Association is to unite stakeholders in African football, encouraging collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the continent’s club football landscape.
The inaugural meeting between African Clubs and President Motsepe took place on October 5, 2023. During this meeting, Motsepe briefed African Club Chairmen on the formation of ACA, emphasizing its goals of protecting and promoting the interests of African Football Clubs.
ACA’s responsibilities include ensuring the commercial viability, global competitiveness, and profitability of African Football Clubs. Additionally, the association aims to secure respect, credibility, and world-class standards for Referees, Match Commissioners, and VAR operators.
Furthermore, ACA will be tasked with developing partnerships with sponsors, the private sector, and governments to construct stadiums that adhere to CAF and FIFA standards.
The association will focus on enhancing football infrastructure and facilities in each of the 54 CAF Member Associations.
