German defender of Ghanaian origin Christopher Avevor has been stripped of the St. Pauli arm band.
The experienced central defender has been battling with injuries in recent years and made only six appearances appearances last season as he was most of the time in the treatment room.
Sportsworldghama.com understands that Avevor will not be captain of the team for the incoming season after a meeting with the technical team and the players are expected to vote for their new captain in the coming days.
Avevor, 29, previously played for Hannover 96 and Dusseldorf.
