Ghana winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku is considered very likely to leave Leicester City this summer following the club’s relegation to League One, a situation expected to lead to many player sales.

Issahaku is seen as the team’s most valuable player, and obtaining a significant transfer fee for him early in the transfer window could offer Leicester some financial relief.

Sportsworldghana.com can report that newly-promoted Premier League side Coventry City is a possible destination, as their improved financial muscles.

Despite a rivalry between the clubs, their different situations could make a transfer beneficial for both.

Coventry may be able to use Leicester’s circumstances to negotiate a lower price for the winger. However, it is not likely their pursuit will be without competition, as Everton and Sunderland have also been associated with the 22-year-old.

For Fatawu, a move to Coventry could offer more regular playing time, which is regarded as important for his continued development.

The winger, who has 27 caps and 3 goals for Ghana, joined Leicester in July 2024 and his contract runs until 2029.

His current Transfermarkt market value is €24.00m.
His transfer from Sporting CP was for a fee that was reported to be €17 million.
