Already bruised Kumasi Asante Kotoko will lock horns with Dreams FC at the Theatre of Dreams, Dawu in a Ghana Premier League week six game on Sunday afternoon.
The Porcupine Warriors are in deep crisis following the sacking of coach Maxwell Konadu as well as the resignation of Communications manager Moses Antwi Benefo on Friday and their woes could be worsened by Dreams FC who were battered 3-0 by Hearts of Oak in their last encounter.
Games between the two clubs have always been keenly contested at Dawu with each of them recording a 1-0 win in the two times they have so far.
One significant history between meetings of the two clubs is that the goals have always been scored at odd minutes. Their first meeting was on April 20, 2016 when a Dauda Mohammed strike under one minute settled the game. The second game was also played on April 15, 2018 when George Dwubeng’s 93rd minute goal from a Leonard Owusu pass decided the game.
Looking at form wise, there is not much to choose between the two clubs at Dreams FC manager Winfred Dormon and his counterpart Johnson Smith have to vary their tactics if there should be a winner.
One department of the game which could decide the winner is the attack. If Joseph Esso finds his feet for Dreams FC on Sunday and Osman Ibrahim as well as Kwame Poku does the same for the visitors, there could be an avalanche of goals.
Dreams FC have been impregnable at home conceding just one goal and their defence could face their biggest task on Sunday against a Kotoko team who are seeking to redeem themselves after being outplayed and defeated by Olympics on Thursday.
