Leyton Orient clinched a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Blackpool at Bloomfield Road, with English-Ghanaian striker Daniel Agyei playing a crucial role in the win.
Charlie Kelman put Orient ahead in the 29th minute, nodding in a precise cross from Diallang Jaiyesimi. The visitors maintained their lead heading into halftime, but Blackpool found a response in the second half. Sonny Carey equalized in the 61st minute with a well-placed left-footed shot from inside the box.
Orient, however, regained their advantage just two minutes later, thanks to Agyei’s decisive contribution. The forward, who played the entire match, displayed sharp awareness to set up Kelman for his second goal of the game. Agyei’s well-timed assist allowed Kelman to slot home from close range, securing the win for Orient.
Despite Blackpool’s late attacking pressure, Orient’s defense held firm to claim all three points. The victory evens their head-to-head record with Blackpool at three wins apiece and keeps their League One playoff aspirations alive.
Agyei now has five assists in 31 league appearances this season. Leyton Orient will aim to carry this momentum into their next fixture against Mansfield Town on March 22.
