Former Ghana star striker Asamoah Gyan believes every Ghanaian is looking forward to the Uruguay clash at the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar.
Ghana comes up against the South American team on December 2 at the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar for the first time since 2010 clash in South Africa.
Gyan missed a last-gasp penalty against the Uruguayans at the 2010 World Cup which would have sent Ghana to the semi-final of the tournament.
And according to him, “everyone in Ghana is waiting for the game against Uruguay because of what happened in 2010. We feel like it is our opportunity to get a revenge.” Gyan told talksport and online sports radio.
Ghana will start their 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign with a game against European giant Portugal on November 24 at Stadium 974 in Doha.
Four days later, the Black Stars return to action with a clash against the Asian powerhouse South Korea at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan.
The Black Stars who are making their fourth FIFA appearance will end their group stage campaign with a clash against Uruguay at Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah.
