Salim Adams has thrown his name firmly into contention for a place in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, declaring his readiness for a first senior Black Stars invitation after another standout display for Medeama SC.
Following Medeama’s impressive 2-0 victory over Bibiani Gold Stars FC in the Ghana Premier League, Adams made his ambitions clear in a post-match interview, saying: “Everything depends on Carlos Queiroz. I’m ready for a Black Stars call-up.”
It was a statement backed by yet another commanding performance from the in-form midfielder, who played a decisive role in securing all three points. Adams opened the scoring from the penalty spot with confidence and composure before producing the moment of the match—a brilliantly struck free-kick that curled beyond the goalkeeper to seal victory in style.
His latest brace adds to what has been a remarkable 2025/26 campaign. The midfielder has now scored 11 goals in 26 league appearances—an outstanding return for a central midfielder—while also collecting seven Man of the Match awards, further strengthening his case as one of the standout performers in the domestic top flight.
Adams’ form has not gone unnoticed. Having recently featured in the Black Galaxies camp, he was among the home-based talents observed by newly appointed Ghana coach Carlos Queiroz, with growing belief that he could be rewarded with a place in the Black Stars setup.
As Ghana prepares for the World Cup in North America, Adams is making a compelling argument with every performance. If current form is anything to go by, his call for national recognition may soon become impossible to ignore.
