Ghanaian young footballer Kingsford Boakye, has left Italian Serie A side AC Milan, just almost five months after joining the club, SportsworldGhana.com can exclusively report.
Sports World Ghana, understands that the promising winger who was born in 2004, is leaving the Italian side and has freed up the second slot for non-EU players that the Milan club intends to fill with Nigerian and Villarreal star Samuel Chukwueze. Otherwise it would have been just a “free” one slot.
The second, on the other hand, can only be registered on condition that one of the non-EU citizens already present in the squad is sold abroad.
Milan have already registered one non-EU player this summer, namely Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and they can thus just register one more. However, the second slot is only made available if one of the current non-EU players in the squad leaves.
Meanwhile, there are some precautions to keep in mind which states that one of the two non-EU players can be purchased without any constraints (if not having at least 5 matches in his national category or at least 2 matches in his national category in the last year.
Boakye, an 18-year old winger, was part of Ghana’s successful Black Satellites squad that won both the WAFU Zone B Championship and the Africa Youth Championship in 2020 and 2021 respectively.
He signed for AC Milan on a long-term deal, after impressing scouts from the club with his performances at a lower division side MSK Zilina Africa.
