Spain-based forward Inaki Williams has reacted to his first ever goal for the Black Stars team since switching from Spain to play for Ghana.

In the pulsating heat of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, the spotlight shone brightly on Inaki Williams, the Spanish-born sensation who had recently embraced a new footballing chapter with Ghana. The anticipation was palpable as Ghana faced Madagascar in a crucial qualifying match.

The first half unfolded with a sense of unease for the Black Stars, as they struggled to find their rhythm against a resilient Madagascar side. Coach Chris Hughton openly acknowledged the team’s lacklustre performance during the break, urging his players to dig deep and rediscover their flair.

As the second half kicked off, there was a renewed energy among the Ghanaian players. Inaki Williams, with his explosive speed and technical prowess, became the focal point of the team’s resurgence. The synergy on the field began to shift, and hope flickered in the eyes of the Ghanaian fans.

Then, in a moment that would etch itself into the collective memory of Ghanaian football, Williams seized an opportunity with precision and finesse. A well-timed cross found him in the box, and in a swift, acrobatic motion, he soared above the defenders, connecting with the ball in a glorious header.

The stadium erupted in jubilation as the net rippled, announcing Williams’ inaugural goal for Ghana. The cheers reverberated through the stands, echoing the collective relief and joy of a nation. Inaki Williams, with his arms raised in celebration, became an instant hero, and the Ghanaian supporters roared in appreciation of the breakthrough.

Coach Hughton, on the sidelines, wore a triumphant smile, his earlier concerns washed away by the brilliance of Williams’ goal. The team, fueled by the newfound momentum, displayed a renewed sense of confidence and control in the remaining minutes of the match.

The final whistle blew, sealing a hard-fought 1-0 victory for Ghana. Inaki Williams, with his winning goal, had not only secured the three crucial points but had also endeared himself to the hearts of the Ghanaian faithful. The celebrations spilled onto the pitch as teammates embraced Williams, recognizing the significance of his contribution.

After the game, Williams remained humble, emphasizing the collective effort of the team. His words resonated with gratitude for the warm welcome he had received from Ghana and a commitment to contributing more to the team’s journey.

As the Ghanaian squad left the field, the echoes of cheers lingered in the air, and the image of Inaki Williams’ triumphant header would be etched in the minds of fans, symbolizing a moment of sheer brilliance that propelled Ghana one step closer to World Cup glory.
