Aduana Stars, a prominent Ghanaian football club, has found itself in hot water as the Ghana Football Association Disciplinary Committee charges them over safety breaches and misconduct by supporters against Asante Kotoko.
The incident occurred during a recent match at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park, which ended with a 2-1 victory for Aduana Stars.
The two-time Ghana Premier League champions face two counts of misconduct, according to the Disciplinary Committee of the domestic football governing body.
The charges, outlined under Section 16 of the Disciplinary Code, 2019 of the Premier League regulations, relate to reported instances of inappropriate behavior by fans and the club’s failure to ensure the safety of match officials.
Aduana Stars have until Wednesday, March 20, 2024, to provide their response to the charges, as stipulated by the Ghana Football Association.
The Dormaa-based club, currently occupying the second position on the Ghana Premier League standings with 36 points from 21 matches, trails log leaders Samartex by just three points, with a game in hand.
