American club New England Revolution have parted ways with Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah at the end of their 2024 season in the Major League Soccer.
The MLS outfit rejected the option of extending the veteran centre-back’s contract for another year.
Mensah, an experienced player and a former Major League Soccer captain with Columbus Crew, joined New England from San Jose Earthquakes in January 2024.
The FIFA U20 World Cup winner struggled for form and consistency this season, making only eight appearances as New England failed to reach the playoffs.
The 70-time-capped Ghana international could join another club in the MLS as he heads into his ninth year in the MLS.
The Ashantigold Academy graduate has made 190 appearances in the MLS, scoring seven goals and delivering three assists. In 2020, he won the MLS and the Campeones Cup with Crew.
Mensah, before moving to the United States, played for several clubs in Europe, including Evian in France and Anzi in Russia.
