Medeama secured an impressive victory over Young Apostles in their first-ever top-flight meeting on Sunday at the Wenchi Sports Stadium.
The win, Medeama’s second in a row, moves them into the top four and strengthens their push for a strong league campaign.
Derrick Fordjour gave the visitors an early lead in the 15th minute with a composed finish, bringing his season tally to three goals. Medeama dominated the game, dictating the pace and forcing Young Apostles into errors that kept the home side under constant pressure.
Midfielder Prince Owusu extended Medeama’s advantage in the 56th minute, sealing a crucial three points for the visitors.
Young Apostles, in their debut Premier League season, struggled to cope with Medeama’s intensity. They have now suffered five losses in 12 matches, managing just one win in their last five outings. Despite their reputation as strong performers at home, they remain in 12th place on the league table.
Medeama will aim to build on this momentum when they face Vision FC after the general elections. Meanwhile, Young Apostles will look to regroup and find a positive result in their next fixture against Basake Holy Stars.
