Desmond Ofei, the head coach of the Black Satellites, disclosed that the team’s victory at the 13th African Games was attributed to the incorporation of Ghana’s football DNA.
In a thrilling match at the Accra Sports Stadium, Ghana’s U-20 team emerged as champions of the men’s football event, securing a hard-earned 1-0 victory against Uganda. Jerry Afriyie sealed the victory with a goal in the 90th minute.
Speaking to the press post-match, Ofei commended his players for their dedication and highlighted the crucial factor behind their success.
“These are exceptionally talented and diligent players who were eager to showcase their abilities to the nation,” he remarked.
“Our task was to assemble the finest talents available to represent our country, and that’s precisely what we achieved. We nurtured them and toiled tirelessly, aligning our vision with the national team’s DNA to guide this group,” Ofei explained.
“This approach will facilitate our progress as we integrate our new national philosophy and DNA. It provides us with a platform to push forward vigorously. There’s still much work ahead of us, and I believe this victory marks just the beginning,” he added.
