Ghanaian forward Bernard Morrison has finalized his transfer to AS FAR Rabat, the reigning champions of Morocco.
This move sees him reuniting with his former coach Nasreddine Nabi, a development we disclosed several weeks ago.
Nabi, who recently took the helm at FAR Rabat after departing from Tanzanian powerhouse Young Africans SC, strongly recommended Morrison’s signing as they prepare for the upcoming season.
The 30-year-old Ghanaian has put pen to paper on a one-year contract with the Moroccan champions, securing the deal as a free agent following his departure from Young Africans at the conclusion of the 2022-23 season.
During his tenure with Young Africans, Morrison featured in six matches and found the net once in their CAF Confederation Cup journey, which led them to the finals, though they ultimately succumbed to Algerian outfit USM Alger.
Morrison also played a pivotal role in helping his team retain the Tanzanian Premier League title.
Before joining AS FAR Rabat, the former Heart of Lions and AshantiGold SC player came close to sealing a deal with Tanzanian side Singida Fountain Gate, but the agreement fell apart during negotiations.
Notably, Morrison has previously plied his trade for prominent clubs such as South African giants Orlando Pirates, Congolese outfit AS Vita Club, and Simba SC, who are arch-rivals of Young Africans.
