Dundee United has announced that Ghanaian forward Mathew Cudjoe will be leaving the club after two-and-a-half years, despite the Scottish Premiership side making an offer to keep him at Tannadice Park.
Cudjoe, 20, joined the club in November 2021 and made 46 appearances, scoring five goals during his time with the Tangerines. The Ghanaian forward was hoping to sign an improved contract after helping the team return to the top flight from the Championship.
However, he has decided to pursue his career elsewhere, with Dundee United revealing that they made an offer that reflected their vision for Cudjoe in both financial and footballing terms. Despite this, Cudjoe opted to depart, leaving the club to continue their search for a new striker.
A club statement on Tuesday read: “We can confirm Mathew Cudjoe has decided to call time on his Tannadice career. The club made an offer which reflected our vision for Mathew in both financial and footballing terms however the Ghanaian has decided to pursue his career elsewhere.”

During his time with Dundee United, Cudjoe scored four goals in 22 appearances, making him a valuable asset for the team. The club wishes him all the best in his future endeavors.
