1. Will Karela end Nations FC’s slim hope for the title
Karela United shocked Aduana Stars in week 28 and it made the Aduana FC family furious. They blamed some of the players for taking bribes in the defeat against the lowly Karela. Karela has just lost once in the GPL at home the whole season. They were thrashed 4-0 by Berekum Chelsea and has not lost a single game since then.
Nations FC are winless in their last four GPL games and must win on Saturday at Karela United to pile the pressure on Samartex.
Karela has what it takes to beat Nations FC and are the favourites on Saturday to end the slim title hope of Nations FC.
2. Samartex travels to resurgence RTU
RTU has lost just once in their last 6 home games. They can’t afford to drop points on Sunday against the league leaders. With a game in hand and four points behind 17th placed Heart of Lions, RTU have a huge battle at hand for survival.
Samartex needs to win to keep their momentum for the final stages of the season. It is David and Goliath affair on Sunday in Nalerigu.
3. Legon Cities visit Oseikrom to face Asante Kotoko
This will be the Royals first visit to Kumasi in the season. Legon Cities have been so sensational in the season having won 38 points in 27 games with a game in hand.
Relegation fight is never part of the plan as it will take a total collapse for them to be in trouble.
Asante Kotoko have avoided defeat back to back for the first time in the second round of the GPL. A win over the league leaders and a draw at Medeama SC has savedProsper Ogum Narteh’s job. The Porcupine Warriors are getting back and a win on Sunday will bring a good mood to the camp of Fabolous.
4. Bibiani Gold Stars chasing 8th consecutive home win aginst Bofoakwa
Frimpong Manso saved Bibiani Gold Stars from relegation fight. The decision to replace Michael Osei with the former Tano Boafoakwa head coach has paid off. In the seven games played at the Dun’s Park in Bibiani sunce he took over, Gold Stars have won all under Frimpong Manso. Next on the list is Bechem United on Sunday. 9th on the table, Bibiani Gold Stars will move higher up the table with a win. It will be so sweet for them if they can win their 8th consecutive game at home.
5. Hearts of Oak is in real trouble
Hearts of Oak’s troubles are not stopping anytime soon. They have been losing with ease recently. Aboubakar Ouattara’s appointment brought some hope to the Phobia family but things have suddenly return back to the gloomy days as they have been beaten five times in the last 6 games. Phobia might join the relegation fight if they don’t start winning because they are just four points above the relegation zone. A trip to Berekum Chelsea managed by former manager Samauel Boadu is a tricky one.
6. Dreams FC return to GPL action with a huge game in Sunyani
The Sunyani Coronation Park will witness the heroes of Ghanaian football, Dreams FC. The Still Believe made it all the way to the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup and lost to Zamalak. They defeated Soccer Intellectuals 1-0 on Thursday in the Quarter-finals of the MTN FA Cup. Their attention is now on avoiding relegation in the Ghana Premier League. A fixture against relegation fighters Bofoakwa Tano is so huge and important as the result will have a huge role to play in the battle for survival.
