Asante Kotoko legend Opoku Nti is confident that Hearts of Oak will survive relegation at the end of the Ghana Premier League campaign.
The Ghanaian giants have been in dismal form this season, currently only two points above the drop zone with three games remaining. Their situation worsened following a 2-0 defeat to arch-rivals Asante Kotoko, leaving Hearts of Oak in a precarious position.
The Phobians must secure victories in their remaining fixtures against Nations FC, city rivals Great Olympics, and Bechem United to ensure their survival.
While Charles Taylor is advocating for Hearts of Oak’s demotion, Opoku Nti predicts that Kotoko’s fierce rivals will remain in the Ghanaian top-flight.
“Kotoko hasn’t pushed Hearts of Oak into the relegation zone. This season, Kotoko have triumphed over Hearts in both legs, which has given Kotoko the upper hand, but I don’t think Hearts will be relegated,” Nti told Kessben FM.
Hearts of Oak are currently 15th in the league standings with 38 points after 31 matches. They will welcome Nations FC to the Accra Sports Stadium for matchday 32.
