AFC Wimbledon manager Johnnie Jackson has praised Ghana international Andy Yiadom’s versatility and experience following the defender’s arrival at the club.
The 34-year-old right-back joined Wimbledon on a short-term deal until January 2027 after impressing during a period of training with the squad.
Jackson believes Yiadom’s ability to operate in multiple defensive positions will be a major advantage for the team as they prepare for the season ahead.
“The fact that he can fill a couple of positions is a real bonus. His experience speaks for itself and he’s really impressed us in the time that he’s been training with the squad,” Jackson said.
The Wimbledon boss added that Yiadom’s contribution will not be limited to defensive duties, as he expects the Ghanaian to also provide an attacking threat.
“We can use him in a number of ways across the defence, but we also want him to get forward and help us in attack. I have no doubt that he’ll prove to be a useful addition,” he added.
Yiadom brings almost 400 English Football League appearances to Wimbledon, having previously featured for clubs including Barnet, Barnsley and Reading, while also representing Ghana at international level.
The experienced defender will now look to use his leadership and versatility to make an impact at AFC Wimbledon.
