Former WAFA midfielder Majeed Ashimeru says it took painkillers for him to feature against Hearts of Oak during the 2017 season.
The midfielder was the orchestrator of havoc on the day as WAFA thrashed Hearts by five goals to nil. Ashimeru scored the opening goal of the game and was all over the pitch in that clash.
But the 25-year-old has revealed he didn’t have it easy as he was unwell.
“I remember that because a day before the game [vs Hearts of Oak] I was injured and I couldn’t train,” he told Star Connect.
“The director came to tell me a scout from Europe was coming to watch this game so I have to play. I had to take injections and painkillers and I had to play. On the field I didn’t play my favourite position, I had to play on the left wing to protect myself.”
