Asante Kotoko’s Cameroonian import, Georges Mfegue Omgba has on Wednesday morning expresses his admiration and gratitude to former coach Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum.
Ogum surprisingly resigned from his post as head coach of the Porcupines just 10 months after his appointment having led Kotoko to win a record-extending 24th Ghana Premier League title.
His decision to unilaterally quit his role after only one season came as a surprise to the players and some section of the fans and the board of directors following a disagreement with the management led by Nana Yaw Amponsah over the recruitment of players for the current season.
An assistant coach of the home-based senior national team, Black Galaxies, 44-year-old Ogum was Kotoko’s 13th substantive coach in the last decade.
However, Georges Mfegue who joined the Porcupines from Cameroonian topflight side Avion FC under Ogum has expressed his gratitude for the former WAFA gaffer in a post on his official Facebook wall which he later deleted.
Mfegue wrote, “Thank for all coach Ogum. I miss you, this is football,” he posted accompanied with a video of him sharing an aesthetic memory with the coach during his stint with the club.
Mfegue flourished in his first season at the club under coach Ogum, netting 8 times and providing 4 assists in 27 games. In his second season under Seydou Zerbo who was sacked last month and current coach Abdulai Gazale, the Cameroonian has struggled for form as he has scored once in 21 games with 4 assists.
