Former Ghana assistant coach, George Boateng, is thrilled to be returning to Coventry City as one of the first-team coaches, reuniting with the club he played for from 1998.
Boateng, who joined the Sky Blues’ technical team ahead of next season, will work alongside manager Mark Robins and fellow new recruit Rhys Carr.
The former Dutch international is excited to bring his experience and knowledge to the club, which he first played for in 1998.
“I’m thrilled to announce my return to my first love in English football, Coventry City FC! From 1998 to 2024, it’s an honor to come back and work alongside Mark Robins and the entire staff. I want to express my gratitude to Coventry City FC for this incredible opportunity,” Boateng wrote on social media after training on Wednesday.
Boateng returns to management after his role with Ghana’s technical team was dissolved following the country’s early exit from the Africa Cup of Nations.
He will bring his expertise to Coventry City, helping the team prepare for the new season.
