Ghanaian forward Issah Abass made an instant impact on his debut for Jedinstvo, scoring twice to inspire his side to a commanding 4-1 victory over Radnicki Nis in the Serbian SuperLiga on Sunday.
The 26-year-old, who joined Jedinstvo as a free agent from Chaves in the January transfer window, wasted no time announcing himself, opening the scoring in the 6th minute. He capitalized on a defensive error, slotting home a well-placed pass from Ethan Hoard.
Abass doubled his tally just before halftime, unleashing a powerful drive into the top corner in the 43rd minute to give his side a comfortable 2-0 lead at the break.
Jedinstvo continued their dominance in the second half, with Aleksa Paic and Branislav Runjajic adding to the scoreline to seal an emphatic away win. Radnicki Nis pulled one back through Radomir Milosavljevic in the 59th minute, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation.
Despite the victory, Jedinstvo remains at the bottom of the league table with 11 points, as they battle to avoid relegation.
Abass, who has previously played for clubs including Mainz, Rijeka, and Sepahan, will be aiming to build on his impressive start and play a crucial role in Jedinstvo’s survival hopes.
