Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana expressed his joy after scoring his first goals in the English Premier League for Southampton on Sunday.
The 21-year-old found the back of the net twice in the season’s final game, helping his team secure a thrilling 4-4 draw against Liverpool at St Mary’s.
“It was a huge relief for me. It was mentally challenging to wait for that moment, but I’m delighted that I finally scored,” a relieved Sulemana shared in an interview with BBC Radio after the match.
Despite Southampton’s relegation to the second-tier, Sulemana confirmed that he is open to exploring other opportunities in his career.
“I’m prepared for whatever comes next. If I stay, I’ll remain committed and help the team bounce back. But if there’s a chance to explore other options, I’ll consider it,” Sulemana added.
The talented winger, who represents the Ghana national team, joined Southampton during the January transfer window on a five-year contract, which will keep him at the club until 2027.
In his time with Southampton, Sulemana scored two goals and provided one assist in 18 appearances. His impressive performances and remarkable speed make him a player of interest for top-flight clubs who are likely to keep an eye on his progress.
