The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has named Joe Nana Adarkwa as the new head coach of the female U-17 national team, known as the Black Maidens, succeeding Baba Nuhu.
Adarkwa, currently serving as the assistant coach of the Black Princesses and hailing from Ampem Darkoa Ladies, steps into his new role with a formidable track record.
Under Adarkwa’s guidance, Ampem Darkoa Ladies clinched two consecutive Women’s Premier League titles in 2022 and 2023.
Additionally, he led the team to victory in the Women’s FA Cup two seasons ago and secured Gold at the WAFU Women’s Champions League, along with a commendable 4th place finish in the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League in Cote D’Ivoire.
Assisting Adarkwa in his coaching duties will be Basiru-Deen Sumani, coach of Northern Ladies, while former Asante Kotoko and Ghana goalkeeper Osei Boateng will serve as the goalkeepers’ trainer.
